TheCuratorial Programme 2014-2015 will commence mid August 2014 and will run through June 2015 (duration approx. ten months, exact dates to be announced).
On the basis of the submitted documents twelve candidates will be short-listed. These candidates will be invited to come to Amsterdam in the first week of April for an interview with an international jury, who will select the final six participants of the Curatorial Programme 2014-2015.
Applicants who aren’t selected for an interview will receive an official letter by e-mail at the end of February 2014. Due to the large amount of applications, there will be no further correspondence about the results.
1. A letter of motivation in which you state your personal drive as well as your expectations of the programme.
2. A proposal for a project (max. 3000 words) including: concept and location of the project (main focus, explanation of context and relevance), the participating artists (including some image material), a realistic budget, a publicity plan (not obliged).
3. A CV, including an extensive description of your relevant working experience
4. Two written references of (former) tutors, professors or employers, in English.
The course fee for the Curatorial Programme 2013-2014 is 7000 euro. Besides the tutorials, workshops and guest lectures, all costs for the excursions (like travel and stay) are covered by de Appel arts centre.
As of January 1st 2011 the amount based on the net standard amounts established each year by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, a single person should have a minimum of 659,93 euro per month. Taking into account steep prices in Amsterdam, we recommended a minimum of 900€ per month.
De Appel arts centre is not able to give grants but we can help you with finding opportunities for funding.
